totally pinched the questions from this post about THE SENIOR PASTORS WIFE (BOBBIE HOUSTON) over at LEADING AND LOVING IT today and thought i would give a go at giving my own answers… go and check out bobbie houstons – she’s wonderful!
1. What is your hobby? um, probably blogging and reading, i often have about 3 or 4 books on the go at once… i’m not very crafty at all. like at all. though i joke about knitting and embroidering (no offense to those that can…)
2. What is your idea of the perfect vacation? family, friends and good food, and places to see and go… a mixture of relaxing and adventuring!
3. How do you create a peaceful environment for your husband? to be honest, i am not the most domesticated chick… but i do try to clear a bit of the chaos and make sure i’ve done the things that i can control… like the washing away… i try to remember to make him coffee, because i know it makes him happy… i’m the extraverted one in the family and we’re both busy with family and BOT and church things and so keeping a bit of order and not changing things without notice, or too rapidly helps… this is definitely an area i can improve on. i also figure if I am at peace and refreshed then from my overflow the rest of the family will be too. the times our home is not at peace are usually when i am not at peace and am tired or grumpy…
4. What special little things does your husband do or say to show you he loves you? you know, its the small things that count. the kiss as he walks past, the laughing at me and with me, the chocolate bar he buys at the garage when he fills up the car… doing life together…
5. What would you say is a unique characteristic about each of your children? my son brings me much joy. he used to be uber uber change reluctant but has so grown out of his shell and is now adventurous and out there, but in still a more thoughtful way. i love the way his eyes sparkle when he is having fun and the way he gets totally passionate about a project or something he’s doing. my daughter is delightful. on the day she was born i put her up on my shoulder and she nuzzled in and God said “she is delightful” and she is. she brings many people joy and loves lavishly. she gives the sweetest cuddles, genuine affection, and is always on the move and always has something to say.
6. How did you know your husband was “the one” you were going to marry? funnily i told my mum that i had met this guy and was going to marry him, before i even told him i liked him. there was just something about him – his assuredness, his security, his unfazedness, his encouragingness, his love and evident commitment to God, that so drew me to him. and his amazing blue eyes… something just clicked. he wasn’t my first love but he is my once in a lifetime love and i knew within a few weeks that he was the one.
7. If you could do one thing all day long, what would that be? sleep? read? hang out with friends? go to the movies?
8. What is your most embarrassing moment? i’m kinda dorky and clutzy so probably have many… i fell over at the kids school the other day, not in front of my kids thank goodness but in front of a bunch of parents…
9. When are you the happiest? i have two categories… one is family happy, when i am with my family and doing things, even simple things like reading with them, snuggled up close and sharing a moment, or watching a dvd in the evening with my husband… and the other is ministry happy… i’m so happy today because of some things that happened in our housegroup last night and what God is doing in their lives. i feel alive and happy when i preach, and the other night i prayed with a young woman and she got set free from some stuff and it was glorious to see God at work. both so satisfy me and make me happy.
10. What do your friends & family say you are really good at? talking, encouraging, baking, organising, preaching, communicating…
11. What is the best leadership lesson you have learned lately? that i am who God has made me to be and He wants to move and use me, maximise the gifts HE has given me and that i should relax into that and let Him shine. i can do all things through His strength and grace and that i am the right person for the moment because He is with me and has called me.
Estimados, comparto parte del tratamiento parlamentario de esta ley, Análisis Parlamentario Ley 18856 Descanso Gastronómico ; no entiendo porqué dicen que es un “adiós a las horas extras”, no lo entiendo así. Esta es la primera reacción que veo desde que se aprobó la ley; esperemos su evolución pero si leen el motivo de la sanción de esta ley no fue para prohibir las horas extras. No estoy de acuerdo tampoco que se haya votado una ley de esta forma para regular lo que aparentemente era un abuso; algún día tendrán que generar un texto ordenado en materia laboral y de allí regular de forma eficiente.

Gastronómicos. Ley “elevó costos” y “perjudicó a trabajadores”

Empresarios gastronómicos de Punta del Este están molestos con la nueva normativa que prohibe al personal trabajar más de 8 horas. Dicen que les eleva los costos y afecta a trabajadores que pierden horas extras y propinas de la temporada.
Las modificaciones al régimen laboral imperante en el sector gastronómico del país disparó los costos en los establecimientos ubicados en la zona turística e introdujo inconvenientes de todo tipo que, a juicio de los empresarios, también afectan a los propios trabajadores que no logran aprovechar los beneficios de la zafra veraniega.
La ley 18.856, promulgada el pasado 16 de diciembre de 2011, estableció el régimen de descanso semanal obligatorio de 36 horas consecutivas para los empleados de los establecimientos gastronómicos (hoteles, restaurantes, fondas, confiterías y similares) y hotelería en general. Este descanso obligatorio, siempre, deberá, además, comprender la jornada íntegra del día siguiente a haber trabajado la carga de 44 horas semanales de labor. El artículo 2º de la misma norma legal agrega que los trabajadores deberán tener un descanso mínimo de 16 horas por cada período de 24 horas. La normativa según se planteó tras su aprobación en el Parlamento fue para regular un sector de salarios bajos.
En este sentido, tres propietarios de confiterías y restaurantes de Punta del Este dijeron a El País que el nuevo régimen impide que los trabajadores del sector (entre ellos mozos, cocineros, chefs y administrativos) puedan desempeñarse en sus locales más de ocho horas por día.
“Adiós a las horas extras. Y no es ese el único problema. Desde siempre los mozos trabajaron durante 12 horas y en algunos casos más para poder ganar más propinas. Con esto solo pueden trabajar ocho horas por día. ¿Dónde se vio?”, dijo un propietario de varios comercios del sector en cuanto a los perjuicios para los trabajadores. Asimismo agregó que para él los problemas pasan por otro lado. “Nosotros, que abrimos casi las 24 horas de corrido, ¿dónde conseguimos dos veces más empleados para que trabajen de mozo? Esto no es para cualquiera; sin esta ley tenemos muchos problemas para conseguir gente capacitada y ahora, con esto, más”.
Otros comerciantes aseguraron que su personal trabaja más de 12 horas pese a la ley y que resolvió actuar de esa manera porque, en caso contrario, solo podría abrir su comercio ocho horas al día.
“Esto puede servir para Montevideo que hay trabajo durante todo el año. No para Punta del Este y otras zonas balnearias donde hay zafra de uno o dos meses al año”, sentenció.
Las ventas crecieron 10% en 2011
La cantidad de ventas del rubro restaurantes, parrilladas y cantinas aumentó 10,2% el último trimestre de 2011 con respecto a un año atrás, según datos declarados a Impositiva. El mismo incremento reportaron los cafés, bares, pubs, pizzerías y confiterías. Al tercer trimestre, comercio, restaurantes y hoteles fue uno de los sectores que más contribuyó a la expansión económica.

Úgy tűnik, David Cronenberg is lassan nyugdíjazza magát. Legalábbis amit ebben a filmben művel, az olyan, mint amit 70 feletti filmrendezők szoktak elkövetni, mikor már unják a vitrinben nézegetni hajdani ifjúkoruk aranyszobrocskákba foglalt dicsőségét. Felhívatnak néhány első vonalbéli sztárt, és szöszölnek egyet, mondva, a nevek úgyis elviszik a balhét. És úgy hiszik, megint csináltak valami jelentőset. Bár, jövőre ő is hetvenéves lesz… Tudjuk jól, ugye, hogy a nyolcvanas-kilencvenes évek egyik legmarkánsabb hangú filmeséről beszélünk, egy virtigli médiagururól, aki azonban már 
legutóbbi filmjeiben jelezte, hogy elege van a kult-státuszból, és nyugis, kényelmes pályára vágyik… Nos, ez a Veszélyes vágy című film már annyira nyugis, hogy gyakorlatilag unalmas.
A közönség nagy részének legalábbis unalmas lesz, főleg, ha bedőlnek a gyártó műfaji meghatározásának. Nem thriller ez, még csak közelítőleg sem az (Milyen vágy amúgy? Eredetiben Veszélyes módszerről van szó…), hanem inkább biopic. Életrajz. Esetleg romantikus dráma, ha eljutunk odáig. A történet középpontjában Carl Gustav Jung, az ismert pszichoanalitikus, valamint híres mentorával, Sigmund Freuddal való szellemi és majdnem olyan híres páciensével, a később első női pszichoanalitikusként ismert Sabina Spielreinnel folytatott szerelmi (és intellektuális) viszonya áll. Freud és Jung közötti asszót alig halljuk sűrű szivar- és pipafüsttől, valamint az elmúlt századforduló aggályosan távolságtartó úri modorától, míg Jung és Spielrein közti románcot nemrégiben Roberto Faenza már elég szépen feldolgozta (Lélekszakadva). A filmbéli figurák közti alaposan kitárgyalt viszony pedig amúgy is elég alaposan dokumentált, akit érdekel, jobban jár, ha utánaolvas. E filmből ugyanis csak tudomást szerezhetünk róluk, de hogy valójában mi zajlott le, azt nem tudjuk meg. A History Channelen vannak ilyen szép, felszínes dolgozatok.
Mert a film amúgy szép. Szépek a tájak, házak, kastélyok, ruhák, a környezet. Híres színészek játszanak benne, például Michael Fassbender Jungot. Keira Knightley Spielreint, Viggo Mortensen Freudot. Fassbender hibátlan, e filmben ennél többet nem tehetett. Knightley azonban rögtön a nyitó jelenetben, éktelen szemforgatásával és alsó állkapcsának vicces pucsítgatásával rögtön nevetségessé tette magát, így később sem tudom őt elfogadni. Mortensen túl fiatal Freudnak, hiába akar öregesen mormogni. Vincent Cassel pedig, az ő eléggé jelentéktelen mellékszerepében egyszerűen elfelejtette felvenni filmbéli kosztümjét, és utcai ruhájában állt be a szettbe. Én ki is vágtam volna. Pszichológushallgatóknak e film kevés, thrillerrajongóknak átverés, romantikus drámának száraz és túl sokat beszélnek benne érthetetlen dolgokról, szóval, nem tudom, kihez szól? Nekem nem jött be. I won two items in Looking for Loot errr…Looking for Raid last night. Gloves and…wait for it…
a Helm Token!
Already had gloves so I passed them along to Elgar (poor little guy didn’t have any mittens and his hands were freezing.) Note: Yes, I admit I considered a round of Elgar Pong in LFR…
Ran off to get my helm, gems and enchants then off to the reforger to get my hit back up.
Then the loot drama started. Not the drama you’re probably expecting, but the Loot Comparison Drama to figure out if Item A is better than Item B.
The good news..
I actually won something I needed for a change (curse you, RNG!)
The bad news…
It’s a LFR item so I’m losing ilvl and stats compared with the VP helm I purchased.
The good news…
The LFR helm gives me the T13 bonus.
The bad news…
Apparently the bonus is considered “weak” although it sims out as a dps increase, and the LFR version also ranks significantly lower on Shadow Priest BiS list(s) for Normal and LFR than the Soulgaze Cowl.
Now, I could sim both helms and get some numbers, but the keyword here is “numbers.” Yeah, I get a bunch of numbers and not sure what to do with them. I’d have to hire a math guy to explain it all, so I’ll just default to the BiS stuff.

Pets for my Rogue
Since I didn’t get the pet from Mr. Pinchy yet, my Rogue was a high enough level to solo LBS for the Worg Pup and Smolderweb Hatchling.
Gotta love stealth – took me about 5 minutes to get both pets and I only had to fight Mother Smolderweb and Quartermaster Zigris. Yeah, they hit a little harder than I expected but it wasn’t too bad.

Lenyűgöző élmény nézni A vadász című filmet, már annak, aki amúgy szívesen bandukol, barangol és bóklászik az erdőben, főleg a kijelölt turistautaktól távol. Vagy legalább néhány kilométerrel messzebb minden népszerű látványosságtól, dobogó kövektől, csobogó forrásoktól és kilátóktól, ott ahol legfeljebb csak az erdészet fakitermelő szakmunkásai járnak. Azok szinte minden pillanatát élvezni fogják e filmnek, hiszen Tasmánia gyakorlatilag érintetlen mérsékelt égövi őserdeje alig változott valamit az elmúlt néhány tízezer évben – ez a film márpedig legnagyobbrészt itt játszódik. Robert Humphreys operatőr pedig komoly természetfilmeseket idézően parádés 
képekkel mesél e tájról.
A film sztorija amúgy egy meglehetősen közhelyes öko-thriller sablonjaira épül: egy fiktív európai gyógyszerkonszern okosai azt találták ki, hogy a híres, de mára már kipusztult tasmán erszényes farkas olyan bénító hatású mérget termelt, amiből fantasztikus hatású új gyógyszereket lehetne kifejleszteni. (Itt a filmben van ugyan egy kis keveredés: folyamatosan keverik a ma néhány példányban még élő tasmán ördögöt (Sarcophilus harrisii) a már kihalt erszényes farkassal (Thylacinus cynocephalus)) A cég egy profi vadászt bíz meg azzal a feladattal, hogy ha véletlenül mégis élne még egyetlen példánya az erszényes farkasnak, akkor azt vadássza le, a tudomány szolgálatában, és a profit maximalizálása érdekében. A vadász fura fazon, pedáns, mint egy német patológus, barokkzenét hallgat, magányos, de kemény, mint a szikla. Willem Dafoe. A vadász megérkezik a helyszínre, ahol a helyi favágók és a környezetvédő zöldek között áll a bál, a helyiek őt is “zöld hippinek” nézik, ám a zöldek is gyanakodva méregetik. Szállásadója, és annak gyermekei fogadják csak szívesen (kisebb közjáték után), a vadász azonban nyakába veszi az őserdőt, és megpróbálja felkutatni az utolsó élő erszényes farkast.
A film 75%-ban a Rambo első részének csapdákat fabrikáló, fák, bokrok és sziklák között rejtőzködő thrillerjét és az Into The Wild című túlélőtúrás dokumentum-kalandfilmes zsánerét ötvözi: Willem Dafoe sajátosan marcona arckifejezéssel vadászik feltételezett zsákmányára, miközben valakik (helyi suttyók, illetve …) reá vadásznak. “Vadászati szünetekben” melodráma körvonala kezdenek kibontakozni, de még mielőtt szárba szökkenne, füstté is válik. Willem vissza a vadonba. Ettől függetlenül, és a kisebb logikai és dramaturgiai jellegű döccenésektől eltekintve mégis izgalmas a film. Dafoe van olyan jó színész, hogy le tudja kötni a néző figyelmét akkor is, ha csak fák között sétál, a vadon és a táj képei tényleg csodaszépek, a filmvégi teátrális zöld farok pedig csak esztétikailag kérdőjeles, tartalmilag mindenképpen szép és méltó.
